I kept my very first pair of NHS specs, given to me in 1982 when I was 15, and I should really chuck the most recent pair which I have knocked one of the lenses out of, but I haven't got the heart to get rid of them.

Anyway, you'll no doubt be relieved to see that I have not subjected you to another photo of my ugly mug - not least because it is much the same as the last one.

Both Cataracts are now done, and I will no longer need glasses. After decades of being shortsighted, and with an astigmatism in both eyes, and then cataracts, I should now have seamless multifocal vision with added right-angles to boot. I can hardly believe my luck.

P.S. Fans of the infamous "Johnson Horizon" need not worry. My vision may have been cured, but by slapdash approach remains intact...
