PHP has become amazingly popular due to its simple pragmatic approach
to solving the web problem. Sometimes we forget some of the complexities
that are inherent to any web application. Forgetting or not
understanding the underlying complexities can lead to a number of
performance and security problems.

In this talk we will cover some of the recent pragmatic approaches to
complex problems PHP has already tackled, but more importantly we will
look at a number of outstanding issues that consistently trip up PHP
users and try to provide some solutions and guidelines for writing
faster and more secure PHP applications.
